Brent Crude Trading At $73.72/Bbl

Crude oil prices on Thursday climbed Rs42 to Rs5,976 per barrel in futures trade as participants increased their positions following a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for December delivery traded higher Rs42 or 0.71 per cent at Rs5,976 per barrel in 7,808 lots. Analysts said the raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading 0.16 per cent higher at $70.40 per barrel while Brent crude was trading 0.27 per cent higher at $73.72 per barrel in New York.
